New World Square, Liverpool

New World Square is a major mixed-use development located on a prominent waterfront site between the Royal Liver Building and Princes Dock.

The £120m scheme brings together a five-star hotel, residential apartments and active ground floor uses including retail and restaurants, organised around a central courtyard space. This arrangement creates a clear sense of place while responding to the scale and character of the surrounding waterfront.

A key feature of the residential design is the introduction of “wintergarden” balconies – enclosed external spaces formed using sliding glass screens, allowing year-round use in changing weather conditions.

The scheme establishes a contemporary addition to Liverpool’s waterfront, balancing density, amenity and public realm within a highly sensitive historic context.
